Counselling, Counselling Supervision & Training

SERVICES

Counselling

You may seek counselling for a range of situations. You may be experiencing difficulties with your physical health, mental health, childhood trauma, stressful situations at School, College, University, in the neighbourhood, community, at work, in a relationship, with your finances, at home, or with your own personal thoughts and feelings.

Supervision

Counselling supervision is like having a coach who helps counsellors improve their counselling skills, ethics, and self-care. It’s a safe and supportive space where counsellors can reflect on their work, get feedback, and grow professionally. Counsellors seek supervision to enhance their practice and provide better support to their clients.

Training

You may need training to develop new skills or enhance existing ones, improve your job performance, or prepare for a career change. Training can also help you to pursue personal interests or hobbies, gain certification or credentials, or keep up with industry trends and advancements.

TESTIMONIALS

Rachel Garnett

“Milly taught me on my journey to becoming a counsellor for nearly 5 years, she was an amazing teacher, not just in an academic manner but also in a human way, sharing experiences, role play, giving the students more of a realistic interactive experience, helping us feel the experience rather than simply “learning” the role.

She has the most tremendous ability to help navigate one’s emotions, confusions, and misunderstandings, allowing things to become clear & understandable.

As a mentor, supervisor and tutor Milly truly has the patience and insight to really hear what’s being conveyed, however, confused those messages may seem, she just has some magical way of truly understanding what’s required at the moment.

Milly will go the extra mile for you, holding your hand, guiding you through what’s needed, there, then, at the moment, & most of all you are Milly’s priority. A rare gem of a person, counsellor, tutor & supervisor.”

Viv Brown

“Milly was my Counselling/Psychotherapy Supervisor for several years, both when I worked in the voluntary sector, and when I began in private practice.

I found Milly very supportive of my personal, as well as my professional development, and she communicated her experience and insights into my practice in a positive way.

I never felt judged or criticised; her challenges offered a broader sometimes metaphorical perspective to
help me reflect, explore and theoretically contextualise the many aspects of the therapist: client relationship.

Professional boundaries to ensure safe, competent and ethical practise were always observed during supervision and I felt we were well matched as supervisor and supervisee.

Her humour, clarity and compassion for both me and my clients boosted my confidence, helping me become a more confident professional therapist.”

Chloe Hill

“Milly was my college tutor, and I found her extremely open, warm, and welcoming.

Even after my studies had finished, Milly acted as a mentor to me, and I am eternally grateful as I feel I wouldn’t have passed my Level 4 without Milly.

I highly recommend Milly to anyone enquiring about counselling or supervision. Her knowledge, warmth and kindness are second to none.”

Julie Knowles

“Milly was my level 3 and 4 tutor. I always loved going to Millys class, she is kind and understanding, no such thing as a silly question and gave me lots to think about and consider from client and counsellor perspectives. I’ve since become a sucessful counsellor on the foundations Milly instilled on me. I can’t thank this lady enough for all she has done.”

Vitha Gnana

“I was recommended to Milly via a friend and was initially hesitant, due to a lack of connection with previous therapists. I felt at ease with Milly even from the first session, enabling me to build a trusting relationship with her.

I felt comfortable talking about the personal details of my life, as she made me feel safe and unjudged through every session.

She is an extremely good listener and always made me feel like I was heard.

After the multiple sessions we have had together, I know that Milly is the therapist for me.”

Alex Doram

“My name is Alex and I had the privilege of being one of Milly’s counselling and psychotherapy students between 2016 and 2019 at the The Sheffield College. This course is particularly demanding on those who attempt to become qualified, there is the necessity of attending weekly lectures and submitting academic pieces, also practising on placement, attending supervision, and taking part in any of their on site training as required.

There is also the undeniable experience that you are working upon yourself during this process, this is a very important part of training but can also be very hard on the students, old patterns of life and self are faced, relationships are tested and examined, work life balance has to be carefully monitored. Students must balance all of this with their non academic lives too.

Throughout the course we were so fortunate to have Milly as our tutor, and I can honestly say I would not be the counsellor that I am today without her guidance during this wonderful but challenging process. Milly always made time for me whenever I needed any support, at the start of the course I had a concern about an aspect of my personal life and this started to play on mind making me feel anxious.”

Alex Doram Continued

Milly gave me her time, did not judge me and listened to me compassionately. She reassured me over my concern, gave me the appropriate guidance and also and most importantly, she helped me to believe in myself, from that moment on my confidence under her tutelage grew with each lecture and session we had together.

I would like to share that I was the only male student counsellor on this course with eleven other female students, and this at times made for some challenging and difficult encounters, as old experiences of male stereotypes came into the room. I was so grateful that Milly understood how I felt without me having to say anything, she sensed my feelings and acted straight away so that I was supported. I cannot thank Milly enough for her compassion with this.

Milly was a warm, knowledgeable, inspiring and engaging tutor, who always made our lectures and training sessions as enjoyable as possible, whilst explaining the theory in ways that were relevant to our future role. I am proud to say that I was once her student, my counselling service has been in high demand since its beginning and this can confidently be attributed to the training and confidence that Milly inspired within me for what we do. I would work, and or train with her again in a heartbeat. It is rare to meet someone with the qualities that Milly has, she is an exceptional person.”
